Ever try and define what it is about European exhibits that sets them apart from those in the states? It isn’t the systems approach, there is a lot of custom construction in Europe to be sure. Is it raised floors or the ability to build on site? Maybe it is a bit of them all, but in the case of Wit Design’s stand for QI ICT, it is all in the details (or lack thereof).
What caught my eye the most was the literature distribution and shelves. Just a notch on the left and right pon walls and then the bright orange horizontal slabs that span between each tower. Sure the hanging pendants draw your eye to the space from across the show floor, but once you arrive at the space the bold shapes remain bold because the details that make the stand actually function are fussy, they are dead simple.
But dead simple doesn’t mean easy. Dead simple means that someone took a lot of effort to think things out. Think about that the next time you want to create that Euro flair.
