This is a teaser trailer for the last of an eight-act performance that combine traditional Chinese craft, music or dance with modern technology.  The combination of live dance with 640 computer controlled motorized LED spheres is mesmerizing. The entire piece, titled 2047 Apologue, was created by Chinese director Zhang Yimou, who also directed both the the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

This particular act pays homage to the weaving machine. The movement and interplay of the lights form a sheet of fabric that seems to envelope and move with the dancer.

WHITEvoid designed and produced the LED sphere content. The LED spheres are from Kinetic Lights. I talked with them at Euroshop and learned that the lights are available for purchase and rental.
