Online Interactive 3D models

Augmented Reality allows you to spin around 3D models pretty nicely, but if you don’t have a place to host them or a piece of paper with a cool symbol on it, these sites can help you out.

Sketchfab allows you to post a wide variety of model types and then share them as interactive 3D views. Sketchfab allows you to share using links and embed code as you see below.

The Marmoset viewer is another cool option.

Twinmotion is another option. I am unable to find an interactive sample file so take a look at this overview video. Twinmotion is driven by the Unreal Engine.

Unity Reflect Review has AR and VR capabilities and the real time commenting system is similar to commenting in Creative Cloud. Like the Unreal Engine, Unity is a gaming engine so the lighting and texturing can be much better than the sample below.

Sayduck and Vntana offer similar services, but are more focused on interactive 3D models for on-line or IRL retail.

Sayduck example below, don’t forget to turn on the light!

Vntana demo below

Depending on your choice, to get a really get a nice look, you’ll have to hone your skills baking textures, lighting and shadows. Some of the applications and plug-ins have built in materials, rendering and lighting tools which can help save time while 3D modeling.
